@HelpMe I am nowhere near qualified to explain, but I guess one thing to make sure you're doing is conveying the shape. Shading, perspective, and linework can all do these. One thing I particularly like to do is add folds in the skin. I think folds add fullness to surrounding areas and describe the curves like a wireframe. Also if you're learning, use references, pick and choose what things you like from artists and try break them down, see how they work so you can replicate them in your own art.
