I've only ever run into, like, one person in my entire life that has ever watched TNG. lol.
The Star Trek franchise was a huge blank spot to me for years until I just decided to give TNG a watch and I ended up marathoning it all in like two weeks. T'was good.
Now I just make horrible and embarrassingly bad TNG Youtube poops with my brother.
Yeah, I never watched it until I was older either. And after TNG I watched DS-9 and then Voyager. TNG is still the best with DS-9 a close second. You should watch DS-9 if you haven't, O'Brien and Worf are semi-regulars
I've just seen TNG and DS9 so far. Tried getting into Enterprise but I didn't really like any of the characters.. I unironically like the cheesy theme song though.
When I finished DS9, I didn't really understand why people rated it so highly.. It had a really stupid climatic battle at the end of the series that really turned me off haha.. I like the characters in it though. Garak is awesome. Any episode Q shows up in is great. Odo and Quark have a great dynamic thing going on.
Just didn't really seem to end well. I liked the looming tension that the Dominion war brought throughout the show but it like never WENT anywhere. It just ended.
OH, and I remember a stupid baseball game episode. TNG had a lot of filler episodes too but I remember really thinking that was one was a waste of time xD
I like DS-9 because it's a stupid, STUPID soap opera in space haha. Garak IS awesome and Du Kat's a great villian. But yeah, the ending blew, real shame that... I got about half way into one ep of Enterprise before the captain pissed me off too much to watch any more. Voyager gets better when Seven of Nine turns up but it's a struggle to watch up until she's introduced.
Maybe I'll give Voyager a shot then.. I know of some things that happen in it that seemed really interesting. Like fluidic space and the advanced species that reside there that fights with the Borg. I just didn't think it was worth watching it to get to those parts.
It definitly picks up in the second half. It's a shame because the premise of being lost in unchartered space with no contact with the Federation is so interesting. They should have gone wild with it, like the weirder episodes of TNG but every episode.
Have you ever read/seen Red Dwarf? It's a cute little sci-fi comedy that has some cool weird sci-fi science stuff in it. The book is better but the tv show is ok.
I watched a few episodes online with a Scottish friend I used to have a couple of years ago but I never picked it back up when that stopped. I remember liking a song called "tongue tied" from it. lol....
Ahaha Tongue Tied. I have an LP of that somewhere in my house... hopefully that's worth a bit of money. The Arnold Rimmer songs better anyway haha But I highly recommend the book, it's really good. Like if Terry Pratchett wrote sci-fi
Ok, I was just making a coffee and caught myself singing Tongue Tied so thanks for that haha I'm not sure but I think the tv show was first but they wrote both at the same time pretty much? I think there's like 4 books
Since i'm getting my new tablet replaced/returned already, might as well get into reading something in the meantime. Hopefully the books are available online somewhere
I remember the book being very different yeah, there's more of Lister's life before The event that leaves him on his own, and it's got more of an over-arching plot about his mysterious past, more characters, weirder space stuff. But basically the same like, episodic story events. Yeah I saw that about your tablet on the thread, I was gunna comment there. That's so disappointing, I'm really rough with my screen and so far it's held up ok but I'd be reluctant to trust a company again if that happened to me.
i forgot how dire things were in red dwarf and how vulgar it can get. i keep falling back into thinking it's a comedy for all ages. lol. i found audiobooks of the red dwarf literatures on youtube; been listening to them recently while playing some vidja. very good recommendation. thank you! B)
The life of O'Brien
Yeah! I was thinking something similar with Keiko yelling at him to snap out of it but this is better

Is it just one book? I'm looking it up.
The writer's of the book also made the tv show?? That's cool.
Or did they write the book AFTER the show? This wiki is confusing meeee

I love how long this conversations getting haha
O'Brien can do that
He has the power
It's the floof hair
Are the books direct copies of what goes on in the show or are completely different?

Yeeeeeeaaah, it be that way sometimes. Thanks a lot, O'Brien
