well i ... know that smell is link to taste.... but.... this is something i still confused about..... somehow you could taste something and the the taste is somehow taste like a smell..... -leep
once we figure out what causes it we could even taste the rainbow
90% of what we perceive as flavor comes from aromas you smell with olfactory receptors in your nose. The rest is taste from your tongue receptors....
have you taste sugar while closing your nose? it's sweet but there something weird about it -leep
you expect it to taste sweet because it chocolate
but then it's bitter taste just hits you like an electric shock
It is not that you are randomly smelling something, not having any experience of that smell in past and able to tell it's taste. You can only tell the taste if u had tasted something with similar smell in past.
in fact the whole kitchen smelled of cheese (the experiment was done IRL)
my fingers smell of cheese, the living room smells of cheese .. I tried to make lunch and instead invented a new kind of air freshener
So.... In short.....We could (recognise) taste if we smell it in the past........ Except for when they don't -leep
