That isn't to say drugs is a bad concept for powers. Erazer has probably drug an eraser across many foes and rubbed out evil. Maybe a chemically fueled superpower has limitations that adds another level of intrigue.
Erazer could be very deep and troubled, trying to rub out more than crime; something within that doesn't ever fully go away no matter how many drugs are taken or bad guys defeated.
