With a lot of these little side doodles, I’m bringing the spade lore back from the dead. In the original spade lore, clovie/clover is the future king of the club kingdom, as the rest of the clubs were initially destroyed in a war. The queen of hearts and the king of spades raised him, and now he’s going his own way in life.
